Substitution Rules and Etiquette
Reminder of Club Rules concerning Substitutes:
2. Although the Skip has a responsibility to ensure he/she has a full team, the player also has a responsibility to organise a sub if he/she is unable to play, and to notify the Skip of the change.
3. Substitution: First of all try someone from the sub list; if this fails the player may try a lead or second from another team. Subs from the sub list can play up to the position of the absent player. Subs from another team can only play lead or second. Skips and thirds cannot sub.
4. If a member opts out of playing in a Club team but plays in for example Province Competitions, he/she must be on the substitutes list if he/she wishes to be able to sub in Club games.
5. If you are asked to curl for another Club member and decide to do so, you must understand that you have committed yourself to his/her game and it is imperative that you turn up for that game. If you do not turn up for any reason whether it is your own game, or one you are subbing for, the team will lose points. You will be charged for your ice and also an administration fee of £5.00.
Substitution Etiquette
If a player from another team substitutes in your place, it is courteous to repay the favour when you are asked to substitute.
